Newala Students Shine

An update from our Companion Diocese of Newala is below, written by Members of the Companion Diocese of Newala Committee:

As was mentioned before on December 18th, 34 students wrote the Grade Four exams at the St. Mary’s Newala pre and Primary School.  We are happy to report that all received a Grade A result!

Companion Diocese of Newala - St. Mary’s Newala Pre and Primary School

Since 1982 The Sisters CCM have run a daycare nursery school.  That school is now being located and incorporated  into the grounds of the St. Mary’s Newala Pre and Primary School.  The students age from two and a half to five years…with a few 6 year olds.

There are three levels, baby class, middle class and a pre unit or upper class.and they number 110 kids in all !  This complex is just outside of Newala Town.  This is where affordable land was available.  There are three buses that assists with transportation but most of the older students walk. Bus fees are included in school fees. All schooling, even that provided by government, is subject to fees.  Again the nursery is staffed and run by the Sisters CMM….who also use the buses ! Classes start at 8:00 A.M. and run until 4:00 P.M.

The construction has been ongoing and much funded by parents through school fees.  Needless to say outside sources are needed and appreciated.

Ongoing Construction in Newala

The Sisters CMM continue with many works in the Newala Diocese.  Please consider supporting them and other projects.  Send contribution to the address below…..tagline Newala Projects.  Thank You.
