Christ is Accessible. So is the Church.
Our Commitment to Accessibility
At the Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin (DioWis), we believe that accessibility is a matter of justice, hospitality, and love. As followers of Christ, we are called to remove barriers—physical, digital, and social—that prevent full participation in the life of the Church. Accessibility is not an afterthought; it is a fundamental expression of our belief that all people are made in the image of God and should be able to engage fully in worship, community, and ministry.
We affirm that:
The Body of Christ is incomplete when any member is excluded.
Access to information, worship, and community should not depend on ability, technology, or privilege.
Digital spaces, like physical spaces, should be intentionally designed to be welcoming and usable for all.
The work of accessibility is ongoing, requiring humility, learning, and continuous improvement.
We commit to actively listening to those who face accessibility challenges, making changes where needed, and striving to create a Church where all people can fully participate and belong. Accessibility is not just about compliance—it is about living into our baptismal covenant to respect the dignity of every human being.
We invite you to partner with us in this work, sharing your experiences, insights, and ideas so that together, we can build a more inclusive Church.
